PIPE CULVERT:

            A culvert is structure which is constructed across the road to pass the drainage from one side of road to the other side without causing disturbance to the road traffic. A bridge is also the same case. But the only difference is that the culvert is of small length ( Less than 6m ).

Parts of a Pipe Culvert:

1. Formation Level

2. Guide stones

3. Earthen bund or Earth fill

4. Pipe

5. Bedding for pipe

6. Head walls

7. CC Bed for Head walls

8. Canal bed and slope revetment
